Genny Hits the road!

If you’ve ever been to Upstate NY, you (or your dad) has definitely heard of Genesee Brewing Co. During my time at Truth Collective, a boutique ad agency in Rochester, NY, I created these animations to spruce up this Genny Cream Ale Summer Tour video series. We wanted these to feel a little gritty and a little rock n’ roll to appeal to the young blue collar market Genny was marketing towards.

I bet this song will get stuck in your head!

I was provided with the source video from the original episode, and the full script of “Daa”s. I first laid out the text in Illustrator to get the typography right and after I got that approved I got down to business animating. I think I lost some brain cells making this, but boy was it fun!

PSL Season is not lost on Garf.

I was provided with the original comic strip (screenshot below). I redrew each element in layers while trying to preserve the original feel and vibe of the comic, but still cleaning it up and upping the quality to future-proof it a bit.

The Fire Nation for Dummies.

I was provided with the cut video with the voiceover and a script. I wasn’t able to stray from brand guidelines with the typography, so instead of relying on different fonts I used subtle but impactful animation to keep this Avatar the Last Airbender history video visually exciting.

Using a hodge-podge of provided character IP, a Getty Images subscription, and some serious photo-retouching skills I was able to animate these Pinterest and Instagram marketing materials for Nickelodeon’s Birthday Club service.

Karaoke Time!

I was provided with the original clip from the show and the lyrics script. Using Patrick in fishnets as the word marker had my team laughing our barnacles off, so we knew the audience would get a kick out of it as well! We were able to streamline this animation by utilizing a motion graphics template and Adobe’s essential graphics feature in AE.

Winner Winner!

Reel Dope reached out asking for a cool but clean splash animation for their website. They specialized in producing music videos and photo promotions for Hip Hop artists in NY, helping them “win” over fans.

Reel Dope x Kid The Great.

I also handled the title sequence and motion graphics for the Kid The Great - Bananas music video. My main goal was to have the graphics interacting with the set and be noticed, but not intrusive.
